Virtuoso guitar playing by Steve Crenshaw has made him one of
the most impressive guitar slingers anywhere. Steve's style,
developed since he first picked up a guitar at the age of 5 and
influenced by such greats as Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn,
displays a scorching intensity and blues-drenched authority.
Widespread recognition of his extraordinary talent has brought him
a host of opportunities.
In 1997, the Harley
Davidson Motorcycle Company, to celebrate their 95th Anniversary,
flew Steve to Milwaukee to film their parts and accessories
promotional video. That tape was shipped out with every new bike
purchased.
Denver radio
personalities Rick Lewis and Michael Floorwax of 103.5 The Fox, in
1998 began championing Steve as a young prodigy. So impressed were
they with Steve's talent, that they bought him a rare and quite
valuable classic Fender Stratocaster. Their influence got Steve
his first appearance at the world famous Redrocks Amphitheater.
During the early days of this relationship, Steve helped Lewis &
Floorwax formulate their popular and enduring band, "The
Groovehawgs".
Steve has shared
the stage with such national acts as The Doobie Brothers,
Creedance Clearwater Revisited, Lynard Skynard, Kenny Wayne
Shepherd, Shemikia Copeland, Blue Oyster Cult, Johnny Lang, Tab
Benoit, Papa Chubby, Tinsley Ellis, Firefall, Chris Duarte Group,
and Hazel Miller. In addition, Steve now also tours the nation
occasionally with world renowned "Ragin' Cajun", fiddler
Doug Kershaw.
Steve's unique
style and guitar mastery have recently been recognized with an
endorsement from G&L Guitars, the company started by legendary
guitar designer, Leo Fender. Steve tours the country giving guitar
clinics in which he demonstrates these fine guitars and shares his
knowledge of technique and style.
